Bhuvana Rai
Bhuvana is an experienced, practical lawyer with a diverse practice.
Bhuvana brings a wide range of legal knowledge and tax experience from her previous roles at a national firm and a Big 4 accounting firm. As former Crown counsel at the Department of Justice, Bhuvana brings unique insight into navigating the audit, appeals, and litigation process from within the CRA. She was a former clerk to the Justices of the Tax Court of Canada.

With broad expertise in a variety of income and excise tax matters, she provides advice throughout the tax process, including: identifying and minimizing audit risks; responding to CRA inquiries; objecting to assessments; and escalating disputes to provincial courts when necessary. Bhuvana also provides estate planning services and is experienced at drafting complex trusts and wills.

Bhuvana is an active member of the tax law community, frequently speaking at legal conferences, and writing about tax. Her timely insights on tax law have been featured on CTV, the Globe and Mail and Maclean’s magazine.
Samson (Sung) An
Samson is a lawyer with a continuing focus on all things tax.
Samson is a tax lawyer with a broad legal practice including tax controversy, international taxation, GST/HST matters, judicial reviews, and tax planning. He was called to the Bar in 2023, and articled with a tax boutique law firm in Toronto. He earned his J.D. (2022) at the University of Toronto.

Prior to starting his legal practice, Samson assisted with commercial arbitrations as a case manager and completed an internship with a venture capital firm in Montreal. Having researched and assisted with tax considerations in various business transactions, he looks forward to supporting clients in navigating taxation regimes.

In his free time, Samson enjoys rock climbing, playing boardgames, and going to concerts.
Sarosh Noor
Sarosh is a dedicated summer student with law firm experience.
Sarosh recently completed her first year of law school at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law. During law school, she was the 1L representative of the South Asian Law Student Association and participated in the McCarthy Tétrault Cup, where she won the award for Top Respondent team.

As a Summer Law Student, Sarosh assists our lawyers with various tasks related to tax and estate law.

In her free time, Sarosh enjoys yoga, running, spending time with her friends and family, and creating new coffee concoctions.
